Deep blue lake, which forms today the Aegean sea in the seemingly serene and dreamlike landscape of Santorini, close by the west side of the last remnant of the ancient Thira, this small island of Thirassia. With an area not exceeding 16 square kilometers, this part of the west coast of prehistoric Strongylis falls off sharply to one side the sea, while the other forms a fertile valley.
