Karterados is worth a visit in itself. My wife and I stayed here instead of having the bustle of Fira permanently in our ears. Good move! Lovely quiet town, great eating places and an interesting old town thrown in. The fact that it was only 10 or 15 minutes walk from Fira and much cheaper was an added bonus.
