Putin’s Daughter to Get Married on Santorini
3 June 2005
One of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s daughters is going to marry on the Greek Island of Santorini, Greek television channel Star reported.
The island’s mayor Angelos Russos told journalists that a suite has already been booked in a luxury hotel for the purpose.
Island administration officials say that although everyone on Santorini is talking about the arrival of the Russian president’s daughter, no official information has been received so far.
A spokesman for the Russian Embassy in Greece could not confirm the report in an interview with Russian daily Moskovsky Komsomolets.
Vladimir Putin and his wife Lyudmila have two daughters, 19-year-old Katerina and 18-year-old Maria, but the TV Channel did not specify, who was getting married.
Santorini (or Thira, in Greek) is part of the Cyclades Islands, located in the South Aegean Sea. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful islands in Greece, an ideal place for a VIP wedding.
