International Festival - Ichos & Ikona July 20, 2011 International Festival Ichos & Ikona (Music & Sound) 26-31 July 2011 Bellonio Cultural Center, Fira, Santorini The Magic of World Music or the Music of World Magic. A journey in space and time through tradition and the works of great composers, with the power of song and the dance of the clarinet, the guitar and the piano. The playfulness of nuances combining gipsy music with the sounds of Argentinean tango and jazz. In the first part the clarinetist Alexandros Manatos and the pianist Magda Nikolaidou will present work by: Artie Shaw, Piazzola, Charlie Chaplin, Kurt Weill and Bela Kovacs. In the second part Alexdros Chatzis in vocals and guitar and Alexandros Manatos in clarinet will present traditional gipsy songs and work by Al.Chatzis and K.Chatzis. A tempting invitation, something from the magic of subtleness and music so badly needed nowadays.
