Santorini is the most extraordinary island in the Aegean Sea of Greece. Although that it looks like a small dot in the map, its unique croissant shape holds the record of the largest caldera (volcano crater) on earth, its volcanic landscape created before 3600 years back after the island rests.

Some scholars believe that the island is part of the legendary lost continent of Atlantis, which supposedly slipped underwater during the disaster. Three of the oldest grape varieties in the world are cultivated in this volcanic soil untouched from time, the Aidani, Athiri and Assyrtico. The locals are using the first one to make their famous Vinsanto, a blessed dessert wine that it can be aged for more than 40 years. A sign of its quality above the taste is always the color which it has to match the color of the Santorinian sunset.
