The fascinating walk into the art of goldsmiths of the family of jewelers PONIROS, begins in the Konstantinoupolis, two years before the birth of DIMITRIS PONIROS, during the year 1949.
At the time is established the in depended family jewellery workshop which is specialized in the demanding ancient technique of granulation in combination with settings of primitive cut unique precious gems in designs inspired from the wealth of the Greek jewellery tradition.
The creations of jewellery they produce acquire fame and become well-known in the local market and quite soon in the international community. The successful march of the firm PONIROS, continues for over one decade until the end of the year 1959, when the fragile social conditions of the times, lead them to take the decision to move to Athens leaving back glamorous career, taking together as only luggage˘s their passion and love for their art.
It was the love with supplies the high quality of knowledge of their art of making jewellery that helped them make a new beginning to the unknown Athenian environment at the time.
At 1963 Dimitris Poniros, a child of twelve years old had as favorite toys the tools of the goldsmith, starting to build up his first jewellery in the family workshop.
The unceasing creativity of the company Poniros is consolidated rapidly into the market of Athens for over fifteen years period of time.
During 1975 and for the next twenty years the production Poniros of fine jewellery is expanded across the Greek Market from the inland to the Greek islands.
The company guided from the mind, eyes and hands of the unique and experienced goldsmith Dimitris Poniros who is the president of the brand.
In the 1995 begins the activity of boutique Poniros in Santorini, while in the meantime the particular jewellery of Poniros brand find international recognition in the USA and Europe. NY, LA, VEIL, MIAMI, SPAIN, GERMANY, BELGIUM and Cyprus are becoming the most important selling places abroad.
In the year 2000 the brand PONIROS exclusive jewellery acquires international identity certification of quality (International Standards Organization) from the European Union and participates in Programs of European Community.
