We had a very pleasant stay in the tropical beach, kamrari, in June 2006. The Hotel is situated right at the beach promenade. Our rooms faced back to the countryside, with a balcony framed with palms (which do not naturally grow on santorini). The pool is rather small, but with a very nice atmosphere,. It's set below ground-level and therefore quite calm even in windy conditions. Some of the kamari hotel pools are facing the promenade directly, wich is a bit voeyeuristic I think. We liked the more intimate poolarea of the tropical beach. The rooms were really ok, kept perfectly clean, freshly remodeled and cery well kept. Comfort is far better than average, compared to the price way more than we expected. Breakfast is greek basics, toast boiled eggs cooked bacon cheese youghurt honey jam cereal an' stuff. Even had some decent cake! Food in the hotel's restaurant is very ok for the price, better than some we had for higher prices (Recommendation: the dolphin's restaurant is excellent!) Hotel staff is helpful, open hearted, relaxed - very comforting guys to have around. We really loved the hotel, and planning our trip in september 2006 it's defineteley going to be the tropical again.
