You couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Santorini than the Villa Manos Hotel. It's inexpensive, bright, airy, and clean, and within 10 mins walk to everything there is to see and do in Santorini. Almost all rooms have a balcony, many with fine views of the sea and mountains. The management is super-friendly, in that genuine Greek way, and will give advice on good places to eat, etc., that generally attract more locals than tourists. I was going to stay two nights, I ended up staying five. Many people who visit Santorini are anxious to get to the coastal resorts and don't bother to spend time in a village like Karterados-but they're missing out. The village is well worth your time, and the staff at the Villa Manos will help you find the best of it.
