Nice place, good food and excellent service

I had dinner at Vanilia a number of times and the food is just amazing. You have to try the lobster. The staff are well trained and await your every need. The restaurant ambience is just beautiful... A lovely little restaurant in fira.

My husband and I spent our last night dining at the Vanilia. Since we were only on the island of Santorini a short while, we did not realize the history of this enchanting restaurant. We were attracted to the magical array of white lights framing the entrance. We checked out the menu which was posted on the outside and were delighted to see the wide variety of traditional Greek cuisine.

On entering, the first floor was aglow with soft white lights overhead and island greenery inviting you to come in and experience Greek hospitality. We were greeted with a waiter who was both friendly and informative as to the composition and quality of our choices. We were told the Moussaka was the best on the island and that was our choice along with a Greek Salad and the sweet wine of Santorini.
Our food was excellent and the atmosphere enchanting. We noticed that there was an upper level where you could have an open view of the beautiful Aegean Sea. If you would like to visit the Vanilia upper level, you will need reservations as it is a popular spot. This was truly the perfect ending to our breathtaking adventure to the island paradise of Santorini. Hopefuly we can return someday.
